Place of service

Marilyn Posted Sun 18th of September, 2016 23:00:34 PM
What is the "place of service" when billing for "98968"?
SuperCoder Answered Mon 19th of September, 2016 08:27:34 AM

There can be two scenarios:

1) The patient is at Home(98968 being a telephonic code) -- POS 12 will be used.

2) The pos is Other POS -- POS 99 will be used.

Hope this helps!

So the place of service will be the patient's address?
SuperCoder Answered Fri 23rd of September, 2016 08:11:32 AM

The place of service will be the patient's address only if the service is rendered at patient's house.

I am revisiting this question. When using "98968" and the provider made the phone call from the office and the patient was at home...use pos "12" and the patient's address?
