May a visit and MRI TC be billed when patient comes in for the results? Also what if the doctor phones in the results? Please let me know. Thanks,

"Thanks for your question.
If the patient comes to the clinic for interpretation of MRI results, you can code MRI service with modifier 26 (Professional Component).
We do not have any specific code for telephone service for result interpretation, but we can code this with E/M code series 99441-99443 as per time spent with patient over phone."

TO CLARIFY AND MAKE SURE I HAVE THIS CORRECTLY. WE MAY BILL THE MRI CODE WITH THE PROFESSIONAL COMPONENT MODIFIER 26. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHICH MRI CODE IS USED AND MAY WE CHARGE THE OFFICE VISIT ALSO? IF SO WILL IT NEED THE 25 MODIFIER?

The question is not clear which part of the MRI has been done, so please provide the necessary information
Yes, we can code office visit as an additional code with MRI with adding modifier 25 with E/M office visit code.

Sorry I was not clear. Since this is the first time the office will be billing this the MRI, I was asking for the MRI CPT code, please. Also I assume the diagnosis is used that we ordered the MRI, correct? Thanks so much.

I can understand your concern. MRI CPT is based on the anatomical location of the body part like- head, spine, limb, chest etc. Select the code from MRI radiology range (eg. 70540-70559 for head and neck region). ICD code depends on the definitive diagnosis mentioned in the physician's note.
