This is a two part question. Is code 97161 (Physical therapy evaluation) and code 97750 (Physical performance test and measurements), be billed separate or is 97750 considered bundle into 97161? The second question is the same, but with 2016 code 97001(Physical therapy evaluation) billable with code 97750? Code 97001 was replaced with 97161 in 2017.

As per CCI edit rule, CPT code 97750 is a column 2 code for 97161, so these codes cannot be billed together in any circumstances. CPT code 97750 is bundled into code 97161, hence CPT code 97750 cannot be billed with 97161 in accordance of 2017. For the year 2016, the pattern of coding both the codes together was same, means CPT 97001 (replaced by CPT 97161) and CPT 97750 could not to be coded together in any circumstances. Codes can be billed separately.
