physical therapy by podiatrist CPT code 9703

we send a claim to Medicare IN IOWA recently and they denied the claim stating missing physical therapy modifier. the icd 10 code was G5790 and CPT was 97032. The submitting format is 97032 RT 59 and 97032 LT 59.please let me know which physical therapy modifier need to use for this claim.

Hi Abhilash,

There is no other modified necessary with CPT 97032 as such, However, there is a mismatch between ICD 10 (G57.90; unspecified mononeuropathy of unspecified lower limb) and the CPT (97032) code. As per the above documentation, there is mention of RT and LT modifier, so it cannot be unspecified lower limb. You may try with ICD G57.93. You may also send us more details of your report to see for extra modifier. Feel free to ask for any further query.
