Hello Monica,

Thank you for your question.

Since your practice does not own the stress-test equipment, you should not report the global code 93015.

If the physician does not own the equipment and the test is performed by an external service (e.g. mobile unit), the code must be unbundled in one of the following ways:

1. Use 93016, if the physician was physically present at the time of the test to provide supervision.

2. Use 93018, if the physician performed the interpretation and report.

3. Use 93016 and 93018 if the physician performed BOTH the supervision and the interpretation and report.

Note: 93017 is for the hospital or other owner of the test equipment to use to get their share of reimbursement

Also, there are two CPT® codes (78491 and 78492) available for positron emission tomography (PET); single study and multiple studies. You are advised to report the appropriate code basis your detailed procedure note.

For codes J2785 X 4 units and A9555 X 2 units, relate the dosage of drug administered basis the procedure notes. As per the MUE, the units assigned to both the HCPCS codes are appropriate.

Thanks,

Please feel free to write if you have any question.
