Percutaneous reduction and leverage fixation using K-wires

Cheryl Posted Tue 01st of October, 2019 11:14:51 AM
What would be the best CPT code for the procedure: Percutaneous reduction and leverage fixation using K-wires for displaced radial head and neck fractures. The patient had bilateral treatment and the surgeon used K-wires and freer elevator to reduce the fractures and than applied long arm casts.

There is no specific CPT code for above mentioned procedure. So, the appropriate CPT code will be 24999 (Unlisted procedure, humerus or elbow). Also attach the copy of operative report along with bill to justify the claim and to avoid the payment deduction.
