Peg tube check

Hattiesburg Posted Thu 19th of January, 2017 11:14:46 AM
Our x-ray dept injects saline with gastrografin in the peg tube and take images. How would we bill for all of this?

Hi Hattiesburg,

PEG tube: (Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube) is a method of placing a tube into the stomach / jejunum percutaneously , aided by endoscope. So whenever, placement, removal, insertion, replacement, repositioning of this device is performed, whatever CPT code we use as per our procedure, documentation of the image produced by the fluoroscopic guided imaging technique and report are included in that CPT. Hope it helps.
