The following procedures were accomplished of the wrist: ganglionectomy 25111, dorsal compartment release of deQuervains 25000 and synovectomy in three areas. 1) Arthorscopic synovectomy was performed at prestyloid recess (extent not documented) 2) Arthroscopic partial synovectomy at capitate hamate joint 3) Open, partial at first dorsal compartment Since synovectomy was performed at three areas, which code is accurate 29844 or 29845? None of the codes are bundled.

Hi,

The appropriate CPT code would be 29844 and open first dorsal compartment synovectomy will be coded with 25118 as it is an open procedure, not arthroscopic.

Thanks
