PA Biling

Vicki Posted Fri 09th of October, 2015 15:18:36 PM

If a group practice uses a PA to see patients in the hospital (POS 21)and the PA is an employee of the hospital and the hospital tells the group that the group can bill for the PA's services, the hospital is not billing for those services AND the PA is not on their cost report can the group bill for the PA services under a physicians name and Medicare # if the physician documents that the physician saw the patient and they agree with the plan, assessment, meds, etc of the PA and signs the physician and the PA signs the chart?

Well, yes, group can bill the PA services if it is allowed by the hospital. Make sure to keep the updated documents with proper sign by the attending physician. Hope it helps!
