Oxygen in Office-CB

Lina Posted Tue 27th of October, 2015 18:42:17 PM

Can we bill for oxygen that is applied on a patient when oxygen level is low? Example, we had a patient in the office being seen for chest pain and her oxygen was low and we put oxygen on her until ambulance arrived. Is there a code to bill for oxygen or is it included in E/M

Thanks for your question.

There is no specific oxygen administration coding for your medical billing. When a patient requires oxygen, the use of the oxygen is bundled into the day’s EM services, so we will not bill it separately.
