Open Carotid Stenting

Wendy Posted Tue 29th of March, 2011 14:36:37 PM

Please help....Our physician did a cut down of the neck and placed a stent into the carotid artery. We cannot code 37215-37216 because it is not percutaneous and cannot use 37207 because CPT guidelines exclude the carotid arteries. Would you use 37799 for the procedure?

SuperCoder Answered Wed 30th of March, 2011 06:55:44 AM

I agree with you for 37799.
