If I am treating a patient for prostate cancer after surgery (meaning no evidence of cancer in their body at this time but am still treating them with hormonal manipulation with injections given in the chemotherapy area)… Is there a code I should be using for them when they get their Lupron shots here? Is the neoplasm coded as Active or History?

The CPT code for Lupron shots will be : J9217- J9219 (depending upon the dosage administered).

Also, neoplasm will be coded as history and the ICD 10 code that can be coded is Z85.46.

Hope this helps!
