Oklahoma wellness exam

Thomas Posted Wed 06th of April, 2016 12:21:23 PM

Our Gi physician performs a wellness exam on a friend who is a patient (72 years old)as a courtesy to him. I billed Medicare with
CPT 99397 and diagnosis Z00.00 and claim denied stating "Statutorily excluded service(s).
I don't understand why denied as I filed claim with info received previously from Supercoder.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the Query Please bill cpt code G0439 instead of 99397 as the patient's insurance is medicare.CPT 99397 no longer billable by medicare.
