Office visit and procedure

Sarabjit Posted Sat 21st of March, 2015 16:32:07 PM

What is the best modifier to use for patients first visit if I do Anoscopy or Proctoscopy during patient's initial visit.

If the visit is for screening purpose please use modifier 33 to represent the screening exam.

When performed together the proctoscopy procedure is included in the anoscopy. Hence, use 59 modifier to distinguish between the two procedures.
Hope that helps
Thanks
