O-Arm System used during spinal Syrgery

Denise Posted Thu 19th of June, 2014 15:31:41 PM

What cpt code would be used for the O-Arm system during spinal surgery for placement of instrumentation? A 3-D CT imaging is also being done. I have looked at cpt 61783. Per the information I found the O-Arm system is typically used with a computer-assisted navigation system but the system can also be used as a stand alone as an intraoperative CT scanner. Thanks

O-Arm is normally reported by CT imaging 61783 with appropriate fluoroscopy code. Because there is no official guideline regarding O-Arm from CMS; different payors have different policies regarding that.

Fluoroscopy options consist:

76000, 77002, 77003, 72291
