NP sees hospital patient

Michelle Posted Tue 21st of October, 2014 13:16:48 PM

A NP does initial H&P to an inpatient that is an employee of the hospital. Physician arrives, reviews the chart and sees the patient briefly. Can he bill for the service even though the NP did most of the work and is employed by the hospital?

Yes the provider may bill for the service if provider reviews all the chart and himself further evaluates the patient.

Thanks !!
