In the emergency room department can the er provider perform an intubation and also bill for 99151-99157 when properly documented?

Hi Nicki,

Intubation can be billed in emergency room by ER provider. Moderate sedation  may be reported in addition to the intubation procedure, provided the criteria for reporting the codes (99151-99157) are met. Also moderate sedation time that is less than 10 min is not seperately reportable. Thank you.
