Annie Posted Thu 03rd of March, 2016 15:02:21 PM

Provider is taking patient to surgery hysteroscopy removal of nexplanon coding this as 58562 but provider is also going to reinsert another one. For the ICD 10 code would it be T83.498A for the complicaton and z30.49 for reinsertion. In office I would coded it as 11983 but patient is going to hospital to have done.

Hi,

58562 is correct, Nexplanon is a birth control implant. ICD-10 code is also correct. But Nexplanon is inserted into the inner aspect of upper arm under local anesthesia. Could you please provide operative report.

Thanks
