hi, if the patient is new to practice but is seen by the nurse for an INV then 2 weeks later is seen by the provider- can the provider bill New or is it now established since nurse saw her? thx.

Hi Tammy,

As per CPT guidelines, the provider had a face-face encounter with the patient for the first time, hence, it will go as new patient.
