New CPT 77469

Gerri Posted Mon 09th of January, 2012 14:18:52 PM

Does anyone know if this new CPT has a technical component that can be billed for the facility? The description says "management" which sounds like it would be a Profee type charge but, the CPT book lists both facility and non-facility RVU's. Help please????

The PC/TC indicator for the cpt 77469 is "0", which identify codes that describe physiican services. Examples include visits, consultations, and surgical procedures. The concept of PC/TC does not apply since physician services cannot be split into professional and technical components. Modifiers 26 and TC cannot be used with these codes. The RVUS include values for physician work, practice expense and malpractice expense. There are some codes with no work RVUs.
