Neurology G0453, 95955 Bundling

Eleen Posted Mon 05th of December, 2016 09:29:06 AM
I am getting a CCI edit stating codes G0453 and 95955 are bundled. G0453 is the secondary code - Mod 59 is not an applicable modifier for G0453. Any suggestions on how to bill these two together? Unable to use mod 59. (G0453 replaced 95941) Thanks!

CPT G0453 is used for medicare patients and this code bundles with 95955. We would like to have some more documentaion of your report before we conclude to any answer.

  • Till than please find below the NCCI statement related to your question. "Intraoperative neurophysiology testing (HCPCS/CPT codes 95940, 95941/G0453) should not be reported by the physician performing an operative or anesthesia procedure since it is included in the global package. However, when performed by a different physician during the procedure, it is separately reportable by the second physician. The physician performing an operative procedure should not report other 90000 neurophysiology testing codes for intraoperative neurophysiology testing (e.g., 92585, 95822, 95860-95870, 95907-95913, 95925, 95926, 95927, 95928, 95929, 95930-95937, 95938, 95939) since they are also included in the global package. Thank you.
