Can I apply code 76881 twice at the same time for the same DOS? 76881RT 76881LTXE? Do I need a modifier XE?
SuperCoder Answered Tue 18th of July, 2017 08:05:06 AM

The use of modifier - XE is not correct for the above mentioned scenario with CPT code 76881 as it can be used for separate encounter on the same day. However, in this case the imaging is done on the same time. Hence, XE cannot be used.

Hope this helps!

They do not bundle, instead the use of modifier XE is not appropriate.

The correct way to bill the above scenario is :

76881 RT

76881 LT.
