multiple procedures for severe bilateral lower extremity claudication

Kim Posted Thu 18th of September, 2014 10:06:57 AM

Our physician performed the following procedures: 1) Suprarenal abdominal aortography. 2) Infrarenal abdominal aortography with nonselective iliac aortography. 3) Selective left external iliac aortography with selective runoff of the left lower extremity and left lower limb. 4) Selective runoff of the right external iliac artery with selective runoff of the right lower extremity and right lower limb. 5) Percutaneous coronary intervention and stenting of the distal complete occlusion of the right superficial femoral artery. I am not sure which codes to use because this is still new billing for me. I will have to fax this in if you need OP report if you could give me number I will need to send to that would be great. Thanks!!!

Thanks for your question.

As per the question, this can be coded as

CPT 36252, 75716-59 used for selective left external iliac aortography with selective runoff of the left lower extremity and left lower limb and Selective runoff of the right external iliac artery with selective runoff of the right lower extremity and right lower limb.

CPT 37225 used for Percutaneous coronary intervention and stenting of the distal complete occlusion of the right superficial femoral artery.

CPT 75630-59 used for suprarenal abdominal aortography and Infrarenal abdominal aortography with nonselective iliac aortography.

So, the final coding would be

37225
36225
75716-59
75630

Hope this helps.
