Multiple DVTs

Dan Posted Wed 02nd of October, 2013 09:21:50 AM

Patient has a partially occlusive thrombus in the tibial vein and a thrombus in the popliteal vein in the right leg. Do I code to both 453.41 and 453.42? or is there a different code which should be used?

Yes you can choose both codes together. I cannot see any combined code to represent this multiplicity.
