Mohs surgery & repairs

Kathy Posted Thu 09th of February, 2012 17:44:10 PM

Do you know if reimbursement for a repair would reduced when it is reported with the Mohs surgery codes or if it is paid at the regular reimbursement rate?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Yes a multiple procedure reduction applies to the Mohs 173xx codes, according to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule modifier 51 allowance. For instance, see http://www.supercoder.com/code-lookup/cpt/codes/?code=17311 fee schedule tab.
