Modifier Order

Annette Posted Thu 06th of June, 2019 09:51:50 AM
When I bill for OT/PT. I need to use either GO of GP modifier. If I also have to use the modifier KX what is the correct order?

Hi Annette,

Thanks for your question.

Modifier KX should follow the appropriate therapy modifiers.

As per CMS, "The GN, GO, or GP therapy modifiers are currently required to be appended to therapy services. In addition to the KX modifier, the GN, GP and GO modifiers shall continue to be used. Providers may report the modifiers on claims in any order."

Please feel free to write if you have any question.
