Modifier 79

Mary Posted Sun 03rd of August, 2014 12:28:10 PM

Do you use a modifier 79 on all billable lines on the claim?

Modifier-79 represents unrelated procedure by the same physician during the postoperative period.

You should use this modifier only when the provider performs any procedure in the postoperative period that in unrelated to original surgical operation that he has performed.

Thanks !!
