Modifier 59

Sharol Posted Mon 09th of January, 2017 15:45:33 PM
Is modifier 59 still valid for 2017?
SuperCoder Answered Tue 10th of January, 2017 00:22:45 AM

Greetings from SuperCoder.com!

Modifiers XE, XS, XP, and XU were developed to provide greater reporting specificity in situations where modifier 59 was previously reported and may be utilized in lieu of modifier 59 whenever possible. These modifiers are collectively referred as X{EPSU} modifiers and are more selective versions of modifier 59.

If documentation does not support usage of these more specific modifiers (i.e. X{EPSU}), you may still use modifier 59.

Please feel free to write if you have any concern or questions.

Thanks.
