IF PT. WAS SEEN FOR X-RAY AND SPIROMETERY. CAN I CODE IT AS X-RAY AND APPEND MODIFIER 51 BESIDE THE SPIROMETERY, 51-94010. PLEASE CLARIFY. THANK YOU.

Thanks for your question. You should not need a modifier when these are billed together unless a specific payer requires it. Check your CCI edits prior to billing as well as payer policies. You can check CCI edits using the Supercoder Coding Tools.
