Hi. My provider selected both 52601 and 52276 for the laser vaporization of a prostatic "stricture". I think he is unsure which to use and so am I. Pt has hx of radiation to the prostate. Op note reads"...The vesicle neck was open, but the apex of the prostate had significant scar tissue where the stricture was. I wen ahead and took the plasma button and vaporized that tissue [and] applied meticulous hemostasis". What CPT code should I use? Thank you

Thanks for your question.
As per the limited documentation we have, it appears code 52276 Cystourethroscopy with direct vision internal urethrotomy is appropriate to use, since the laser had been used to treat the urethral stricture.
Hope this helps.

Yes thank you...the documentation is very limited, what I sent was the "highlight" of the procedure, the rest was pre op prep and post op planning. Thank you again
