Patient has Merkel cell carcinoma (209.32) with mets to bone. Should the bone mets be coded 198.5 or 209.75. Physician wants to give Xgeva for the bone mets.

If your oncologist treats a patient for bone metastasis, which resulted from a primary neoplasm such as Merkel cell carcinoma (209.32), you can report 198.5 along with the primary diagnosis.
