Medicare E/M ER coding

Shirley Posted Wed 15th of February, 2012 16:12:22 PM

This is a follow up to my previous question about using codes "99201-99205" and "99241-99245" for Medicare ER consultations. I would be incorrect to use an outpatient consultation code for Medicare patient being seen in the ER by a physician other than the ER physician. The codes to use would be "99201-99205" or "99211-99215", is this correct?
