Medicare billing question

Monica Posted Fri 24th of October, 2014 13:34:37 PM

Can you bill a 93970 and a 76881 and expect payment from Medicare?

Thanks for your question. 93970; Duplex scan of extremity veins including responses to compression and other maneuvers; complete bilateral study and 76881; Ultrasound, extremity, nonvascular, real-time with image documentation; complete can be billed together. According to CCI edits, code 76881 is a column 2 code for 93970, but a modifier is allowed in order to differentiate between the services provided. You would use a modifier with code 76881.
