Neither MCL nor LCL has its own code, and if either were done alone, the choice would be 29999 (unlisted procedure, arthroscopy) with good documentation about what was done and why. Also attach the copy of operative report with the bill to justify the claim and to avoid the payment deduction.

Reason why chronic pain and locking. Scope introduce into the patellofemoral and diagnostic performed. Thickened plica of the medial compartment was taken down by shaver. Shaver use to perform partial meniscectomy . Needle used to percutaneously fenestrate the MCL. ACL, PCL And lateral meniscus intact and no injury

Thanks for your reply.

There is no specific code for fenestration of MCL. So, as per the documentation the appropriate code for MCL will be 29999 (Unlisted procedure, arthroscopy).
