We are not removing the saline implant but simply doing a “puncture & evacuation” of the saline

Thanks for the information. As the documentation provided is very limited, and the puncture and evacuation of saline is performed then code 10140 (Incision and drainage of hematoma, seroma or fluid collection) can be used and if there is any postoperative wound infection then code 10180 will be appropriate. Medical necessity should be established with these codes.

Does 10140’s description of hematoma, seroma and fluid collection really cover taking out regular saline out of a breast implant?
