Lysis of Adhesions

Nicole Posted Wed 03rd of August, 2016 19:45:47 PM
The doctor performed a scrotal exploration (55110) and bilateral testicular biopsies (54505-50) and lysis of adhesions scrotum. I am stuck on the lysis of adhesions. Is there a code for this, or would it fall under the unlisted code (54699)?

There is no specific CPT code for lysis of Scrotal adhesions. So you can go with 54699 (If its Laparoscopic), for open procedure, use CPT code 55899. Also, CCI edits indicate that CPT code 54505 is column 2 code and is considered integral procedure for CPT code 55110 and it cannot be billed together in any circumstances.
