LP Shunt

Caralee Posted Tue 09th of April, 2013 17:16:07 PM

pt. has LP shunt placed few months ago. Recently Dr. did exploration and revision of LP shunt to adjust pressure of water. Before the shunt procedure, he removed lumbar Keloid at the old incision site.
Does 63744 includes exploration and revision of shunt?
Any specific code for Lumbar Keloid? I was looking at 11400 thru 11446 for excision of benign lesions but do not specify lumbar region. Thanks.

Yes, 63744 includes exploration and revision of shunt.

For lumbar keloid removal, if the procedure was just an abrasion ,code 15786.
If it was a removal/excision process, code from 11400-11406 ("trunk" includes the skin of back, including lumbar area)
