left heart cath and mesenteric angiogram

Kim Posted Wed 17th of December, 2014 12:56:16 PM

Our doctor performed a left heart catheterization, celiac angiography, and superior mesenteric artery angiography. I am going to use code 93458 for the heart cath but I have not been able to find a code for mesenteric angioram or celiac angiography. I really need some help on this. Thanks

Greetings for the day!

With limited documentation provided, for Celiac and Superior mesenteric arteriography/angiography, the following codes can be used:

93567 if the injection procedure was done in the abdominal aorta or the documentation supports the supravalvular aortography procedure done.

36245 x2, 75625 x2 if the selective catheterization was done in the celiac artery and mesenteric artery angiography performed, the more appropriate codes can be used according to documentation.

Hope this helps,
