Salpingectomy is surgical removal of the fallopian tubes. CPT code 58670 is for laparoscopic, surgical procedure with fulguration of oviducts, with or without transection- this procedure is for oviducs, but not for falolopian tubes. Since your doc is performing laproscopic salpingectomy, in this procedure, the provider removes one/or both of the ovaries and/or one or both of the fallopian tubes using a laparoscope. So, CPT 58661 is appropriate code to bill for the condition.
