Recently my doctor performed laparoscopic longitudinal gastrectomy, 43775 along with a laparoscopic paraesophageal hernia repair for a hiatal hernia which is bundled into the gastric sleeve surgery. Several days later the doctor took the patient back to the OR for unrelenting nausea with vomiting and removed the sutures from the hiatal hernia repair via laparoscope along with an EGD. What code is best used for this surgery?

As per CCI edit suture removal for hiatal hernia is included in the main procedure i.e, 43775. However, the other complain (nausea, vomiting) that is unrelated to this condition and for which doctor performs EGD for diagnosis purpose, will bill as 43235. Please feel free for any further query.

If the suture removal was done several days later after the sleeve and hiatal hernia procedure wouldn't I be able to bill out for this? I billed the sleeve (43775) but not the hiatal hernia repair because it bundled into the 43775 so when the doctor takes the patient back to the OR several days later to take down the hiatal hernia what would be the code to use?

Suture removal for hiatal hernia repair will not be seperately paid as it will be included in global day period (global day for paraesophageal hernia repair and laparoscopic longitudinal gastrectomy is 90 days). Thank you.
