Teresa Posted Thu 06th of February, 2020 09:41:50 AM
I can't find an appropriate code for this procedure, help please. Supraumbilical incision done. Hasson cannula introduced. Insufflation up to 15 mmHg done. Trocar No.12 left lower quadrant, No.5 suprapubic. Insprction revealed along the junction between the cecum and the right colon an area of torsion of the appendagitis epiploica. Endo GIA stapler used and divided the torsed area and excised and then placed in Endopouch and then pulled out through the umbilicus. Irrigation done with normal saline. JP drain placed through the suprapubic, secured to the skin with 2-0 silk suture.

There is no specific CPT code for the laparoscopic excision of epiploic appendages. As per the provided documentation the appropriate CPT code will be 49329 (Unlisted laparoscopy procedure, abdomen, peritoneum and omentum).
