When a patient comes in for a CBC, CHEM, TSH - 80050(Panel Code) Can this be billed as a preventative service even though the patient has a sign or symptom of one of the three tests that are in the panel?

No CPT code 80050 can not be billed as preventive services code as there is a different range of codes representing as preventive services. 99381-99387 (new patient) and 99391-99397 (established patient). Also, CPT code 80050 can be billed with the preventive services codes.

What I meant was...can CPT 80050 be billed as a preventative lab service, with diagnostic codes secondary? EXAMPLE..Patient is being seen for a preventative exam, w/Lab service CPT 80050. PT also has Hypothyroidism. Can this test lab test 80050 be primarily billed as Preventative w/Hypothyroidism secondary since there are three test within this panel??

Yes it can be billed as the primary code.
