Use CPT codes 27570 and 20610. 27570 is for manipulation of knee joint under general anesthesia (includes application of traction or other fixation devices) and 20610 is for arthrocentesis, aspiration and/or injection, major joint or bursa (eg, shoulder, hip, knee, subacromial bursa); without ultrasound guidance. Code 20610 is a column 2 code for 27570 , but a modifier is allowed in order to differentiate between the services provided. Use modifier 59 with code 20610 to distinguish between the services performed.
