What's the correct way to bill Bicillin? Is the correct HCPC code 'J0558'? if so, how then should the units be billed? Thank you

SuperCoder Answered Wed 19th of March, 2014 20:27:17 PM

Report J0558 for Bicillin CR by various units, depending on how many units the physician administered.

Ok, but the description states, "Injection, penicillin g benzathine and penicillin g procaine, 100,000 units." However, it was mentioned 2500 units. Could you please clarify the units and why the difference between 2500 and 100,000? I'm not sure where the 2500 comes from. Thank you.

I am sorry for 2500 units. It was mistakenly typed.

Thanks for figuring it out.

So please re-clarify how one would bill J0558 when it is applicable? For example: If its 600,000 units, is it 6 units?

Yes, it is 6 units. I agree.
