J-tube repositioning

Lynn Posted Sat 10th of December, 2016 18:36:47 PM
Besides billing 43212 for the stent placement is there another code for the J-tube repositioning? thank you Next, we attempted to perform a retrograde flexible endoscopy through her J-tube opening. Her J-tube was removed and her opening at the skin was dilated with a 24-French Maloney dilator. This allowed us to pass the pediatric endoscope up retrograde to her gastric conduit. This was confirmed with fluoroscopy. A gastric tube that was passed retrograde to her gastric conduit from her J-tube insertion site at the skin. We guided this in over a guidewire that had been placed through her esophagoscope. A 16 Fr jejunostomy tube was repositioned and using fluoroscopy, we were able to confirm the gastric conduit, drainage tube as well as the J-tube were in good position.

For J-tube repositioning, code 43761, Repositioning of a naso- or oro-gastric feeding tube, through the duodenum for enteric nutrition. Thank you.
