J-tube removal under anesthesia

Nicole Posted Thu 21st of July, 2016 11:32:18 AM
My provider took the patient back to the OR for removal of a j-tube under general anesthesia. I know generally an E/M code is reported, but this patient had this removed via incision with anesthesia. Is there an appropriate code for this? Thank You,

There is no specific CPT code for the removal of a j-tube. The most appropriate code can be used here is 43999 Unlisted procedure, stomach for j-tube removal.
