IS THIS 43255 OR 43258

Vickie Posted Tue 18th of October, 2011 13:16:16 PM

When the gastroenterologist says "A single small angiodysplastic lestion with NO BLEEDING was found in the gastric body. Vaporization for hemostasis using argon plasma at 0.5 liters/minute and 30 watts was successful, is this 43255 or 43258? I know what the term hemostasis means however, he says the lesion had NO BLEEDING.

Thanks for your help.

I would use the ablation code of 43258 with dx code of 53782. I usually check to make sure that there is no tissue in pathology from this cpt code.

Agree with 43258.
