The patient had a needle biopsy of the prostate was performed and 6 specimens were sent to the pathology for examination. Should I use G0416 for interpretation of the specimens.

No. You should report 88305x6 for the exam of six prostate needle biopsy specimens. Use G0416 for Medicare beneficiaries when the pathologist examines 10-20 specimens. That’s a change from past years when G0416 described specimens only from prostate saturation biopsies — the code definition has changed.
