INSERTION OF PRESSURE SENSOR MONITORING DEVICE

Becky Posted Mon 11th of April, 2016 14:25:21 PM
Can you please direct me to the CPT code I would use for insertion of pressure sensor monitoring device into the right pulmonary vein, open approach? Thank you

Hi, The procedure does not have a direct CPT code. So, use CPT code 37799 for unlisted procedure for the service. Also, attach the entire operative report to the provider during billing. Hope this helps! Thanks.

what code would I compare this to? Thanks for your prompt response

Hi, As for the procedure described there is no matching CPT code. Hence, we cannot provide you with a CPT code with which it can be compared. Also, CPT offers codes for introduction of needle and catheters in pulmonary artery. However, it does not provide a direct code for insertion of device in pulmonary vein. Thanks.
