Iliofemoral Venography with Iliac Thrombectomy

Oscar Posted Wed 19th of August, 2015 04:02:23 AM

Please answer my following coding question.
Initially my doctor took the venous access and placed the catheter in Iliac Vein and performed venography which showed large thrombus occluding the vein. Then doctor manually aspirated the thrombus multiple times with the occlusion of guiding catheter which removed and re-flushed with heparinized saline. Then used 3 mg TPA slowly injected after 10 mins then thrombus removed which opened the vein 50%, again used another 2mg TPA, did the same.
So, now can I code mechanical thrombectomy of vein?
Following is my coding please suggest.
36005 or 36011 - Vein catheter placement.
75820 - Venography Extremity, unilateral, with RS&I
37187 - Vein mechanical thrombectomy.

Please suggest.
